Scrappy Project

Posted March 6th, 2013 by marcella and filed in quilting

I’ve been following along with Pam Buda’s Orphans and Scraps project.  Rather than Civil War era fabrics, I used my scraps of 1930′s reproductions.

When the final project of a little runner was revealed, I took my blocks in a different direction.  I added some borders to them and turned it into a little quilt instead.

Eventually the top will be quilted and donated to the NICU at the local hospital for a tiny baby.

Meanwhile, I’m working on finishing up the quilting on an old project.  I’m hoping to have it done very, very soon so I can enter it into the Las Vegas guild quilt show in April.

See more beautiful things over at Freshly Pieced today.

very cute little quilt! I’m sure it will be a comforting gift to a family with a baby in the NICU!

Having had a baby in the NICU (he’s 26 now!), I know how much I appreciated the things other people did for my baby. That will be a lovely gift for a baby there.
