More of My Quilting Adventures

Still catching up here.

One day on our Sisters, OR adventure we went on the Sisters Garden Club Tour.  Our tickets had a map to six homes in the area, and so with water bottles and sunglasses at the ready we set off.

There were houses with small yards and casual arrangements all done by the owners.

I really loved this spiky looking thistle hidden among the daisies.

At all of the homes there were quilts hung in the gardens.

Some gardens were professionally landscaped and cared for by the pros.  One had its own pond with a sandy beach and kayaks. Some had amazing views.

And the neighbors came out to see what was going on.

And I really didn’t spend all of my time looking at gardens and other peoples quilts.  I did get some sewing done.  I worked on some hand projects.  I spent quite a bit of time sewing on my english paper piecing project.  I know it looks like not much is done, but it takes a while by hand.  The diamonds are an inch long on a side to it’s little and fiddly too.

I sewed the first two rows together according to the directions and it was a pain in the neck to do!  My friend and I looked at it and I think we figured out a better assembly method.  Once I have some hand sewing time again I’ll play with it.  Hopefully it will work better.
