Shopping Day 1

It’s time for the annual shop hop around here and we love to go every year.  Because I was called for jury duty one of the days everyone was available to shop, we had to juggle things a bit.

For day one I went out with a friend and her two very patient children.  My sister and niece will hit those same shops another day.  Friday we’ll visit the rest of the shops all together.

We started out bright and early and everyone collected their passports:

Always lots of paperwork to fill out at the start but at least most shops reward our efforts with candy or other treats.  Quilters and sugar seem to be the perfect match.

This year we were given a pattern for a tote bag that one of the shops created and at each shop we received 4 charm squares in black and white.  If we visit every store we’ll have enough squares to make the bag.  So far my collection looks like this:

At some shops they had quite an array of squares and we could pick and choose.  At others they were all bagged up and ready to go.

Not much shopping went on.  I came home with a book I had been wanting, a magazine and two spools of white thread.

Friday is the big day with several of our very favorite shops as well as the chocolate factory.  There will be much more shopping going on then.
