Cut, cut, cut
I’ve hit a slump in the finish up old projects project. I was finding myself avoiding my sewing room. Even though I would drag myself in there and work on some machine quilting I just wasn’t enjoying it. The design was even turning out quite well, but that wasn’t enough and I really wasn’t excited to be sewing.
A friend told me I needed to work on something else instead that I had done plenty of finishing. Then my husband told me it meant I needed to work on something different. I finally decided to listen to them.
I packed up the other projects and started playing. It didn’t come easy. I cut and tried lots and lots of fabrics out before I settled on something I liked.
The pattern I’m working on is one that’s been in my “want to make” pile for quite a while. It’s Hopscotch by Camille Roskelley.
For the fabrics I dug into my Kaffe Fasset drawer and started cutting. I’ve been cutting and cutting and cutting. That quilt has a lot of pieces! I’m finally done and ready to sew.
Hope you have a fun project to work on that inspires you!

Nothing makes you dread a hobby more than lack of passion about what you’re working on! Hope some piecing time with these beautiful fabrics brings back the enjoyment.
